Department of Visual Communication Design was established in 1995 which is one of four departments in the College of Creative Media (Department of Visual Communication Design, Department of Media Arts, Department of Spatial Design, Department of Public Relation and Advertising). The aims of this department are to integrate vision perception, technology media, cultural development and the creative representation, and develop related media design. The Graduate School of Visual Communication Design was established in 2001 to provide higher and advanced visual design education.
Using vision as information to communicate with each other
has been the main way between human beings. With the developing
era, the media form of visual information evolves from 2D
to 3D, from static to dynamic. Moreover, relying on the development
of contemporary digital technology, the media evolves into
multi-audio and virtual interaction. The function of communication
extends from simply conveying information to sharing and shaping
the value and belief of human group, and then changing to
global entertainment industry. The educational target of the
department and graduate school is to train the specialists
who have the concept of aesthetics theories, apply digital
technology and multi-audio media in creating artworks, and have the ability
of marketing and research.
The graduate students distribute in many fileds, including advertisement design company, multimedia design company, graphic design company, package design company, post-production company of television and cinema, design department of the technology company, art design education, and all the other related realms.
